 Steve Schardein

Meet Steve Schardein

If there is a salon in Oklahoma City that can make you feel like you are in "The Big City," Schardein & Company is it. This salon is a dream come true for Steve Schardein.

With a business model that includes "what works" from salons he has toured across the country, Steve created a definite image for his salon. The salon is the product of a vision cast by Steve to Alisa Weatherman, an interior designer, who did a tremendous job in bringing Steve's ideas to life. Monty Jacobs Construction, general contractor for the project, did an outstanding job of finishing the salon in a timely manner, while making the space a treat for the eyes.

Steve Schardein brings 33 years of experience and education into his salon creating a successful and thriving environment for everyone to work and learn in. Graduating from beauty college in 1976, Steve soon realized that education and experience is key to any successful career. After a year of working in the field, Steve felt the need for more and started school in California under the great Vidal Sassoon, graduating in 1978. To this day, the Sassoon Academy remains at the top of the list for professional hairdressers worldwide.

In 1980 Steve received his instructor’s license, allowing him to teach what he had learned through his education and experiences. Steve greatly values education and spends much of his travel time taking members of the team to hair shows and conferences around the world. He also closes the salon for few hours each week to dedicate to the education of the team. Steve often brings in some of the top colorists, educators and motivational speakers from around the country to speak during team building exercises.

Steve’s vision of building a salon where professional hairstylists can build their careers, receive health and savings benefits and work together as a group of educated individuals has come far over the last four years.

Stevie Schardein Kennedy

The daughter of Steve Schardein, I am fortunate to have been around the hair industry my entire life. Since graduating from Duncan Bros. Hair School I quickly immersed myself in all that a busy salon offers. My creativity is best expressed through unique color placement, precise application and low maintenance hair cuts. I specialize in curly hair and play an important role as part of the color correction team. In September 2008, I traveled to Canada and completed an intensive training program in order to become a Goldwell Color Master. As Education Director I have the responsibility of mentoring and guiding Associate Stylists through our extensive training process.  I balance my busy career with a love of the outdoors, my family, my faith and fitness. Being a part of the Schardein & Company team has proven to be invaluable, I know I am ready for any challenge and look forward to continued success.

Elisa WittenElisa Witten

As a stylist for 13 years, I left a corporate salon to join the Schardein & Company team to join a group of award-winning and nationally recognized professional hairstylists. We attend weekly training on advanced haircutting and coloring techniques to give the best up-to-date styles. I have also attended Goldwell color training in California and won the top honors in my salon to attend the Institute of Courage, a weekend retreat in California to work and learn from Micheal O’Rourke (founder of Big Sexy Hair Concepts).  My color philosophy is to give you the most flattering and natural-looking color to make you feel gorgeous. I like to do a mix of classic and trend-setting cuts, colors, special-occasion hairstyles, and texturizing. I am always pursuing the newest techniques and trends to provide my clients with the best experience possible. I am most well-known in our salon for being proficient at a wide range of services: from a classic curling iron set to extensive color correction. I also offer microlines for my clients. I look forward to meeting you and giving you the hairstyle you’ve always wanted!

One of my favorite services I offer is Hairdreams hair extensions. At the end of the day, I'm busy looking forward to the next day's challenges. The people I meet and work with leave me feeling happier than when the day started. I cannot wait to meet you and serve you. Come in today and let me transform you!
